New Office
I have moved to a new office where is much closer to my home; 5 minutes commute time with local driving. It is almost unheard of for most people living in the bay area. I am even thinking to ride a bike to work. However, I need to drop off my daughter to the daycare before I go to work. Similarly I need to pick her up before I go home. Turn out, my commute time is same as before.

Right. There are times we think we can do less (in your case , drive less) but if we give it a second thought, it is the same. Almost like a paradox.

Alvin: At least my driving distance is closer so I though I could save some gasoline spending. But gas price keeps going up, so I end up paying even more … another paradox.
Anonymous: Thank you. A picture is worth a thousand words.
